French writer Erik Orsenna was present on the Airbus stand to sign his latest book, a tale called “Tidings from the isle of flight”, a joyous children’s adventure tale that celebrates the magic of flying and the satisfaction of achieving a shared goal.

The 2005 Paris Air Show comes to a close this weekend with Airbus retaining its undisputed leadership position in the airliner business – having announced orders and commitments for aircraft ranging from the 100-passenger A318 to the 555-seat A380, and delighting the crowds with flight demonstrations of the A380.
